The demand for ESG credentials and commitments in the technology industry has risen in recent years, with several large technology vendors “recommitting” and updating ESG mandates.

A report from S&P Global noted that key challenges for the sector lie in gender diversity of Boards and management, as well as the industries global carbon footprint, contributed primarily from downstream scope 3 emissions.
